Vacation-Day 6

Saturday was our last day in Hilton Head. :o( It rained a little bit that morning, but by noon it was beautiful. We spent most of our time at the beach.
Saturday night, we drove a few miles to Bluffton and took a few pictures of the marsh areas. We played it low key and ate at Golden Corral for supper. :o)
We also did some of our last shopping at the outlet mall. I loved that place!
We loved Hilton Head, & we will definitely be going back again!

Vacation-Day 5

Friday, during the day, we just hung out at the beach and the pool. We had nothing to do today but relax, and it was wonderful.
Friday night, we ate supper at The Crazy Crab. It is probably the most popular restaurant on HHI. Everyone told us to eat there! John T. got the seafood platter with all sorts of underwater fishies.
I went for the steak & baked potato!
When we got back to our resort, we went for a walk on the beach and took lots of pics
I am so blessed to have him!
Sporting our armbands we had to wear all week

Vacation-Day 4

Thursday was definitely a day of pure relaxation! We started our at the pool in the early morning, and then we headed to the beach for the rest of the day.

This was our setup for the whole week :o)

A view of our resort from the beach My beach/pool book for the week. It was very good!
This was probably the hottest day of the week, so I got a snow cone! They were also passing out ice cold towels, which was great!
Every day the resort provided these HUGE beach balls for everyone to play with in the pool
After staying at the beach all day, we had our pictures taken professionally at a local beach near our resort. It was kind of late when we finished, so we decided to go for pizza afterwards!
This place was so good! It was also on the to-do list for the trip!

Vacation-Day 3

On Wednesday, we left HHI early in the morning and drove about an hour away to Savannah, GA.
Our main purpose in visiting Savannah, was to eat at Paula Deen & her sons' restaurant called The Lady & Sons. They start taking reservations at 9:30 a.m. for lunch and dinner. We got in line around 9:15 and received our 11:00 lunch reservation about an hour later. This is the line wrapped around the building. They say it is like this every day!
Almost to the front of the line!
This is the square in downtown Savannah.
While we waited to be seated, we shopped in Paula's store. She had everything from spices to cookware. Very cute!
This was by far the best restaurant meal I have ever had. We ordered the buffet, and there was so much southern goodness to choose from!
We were given several different choices for dessert, but John T. went with the bananna pudding...
and I went with the ooey gooey chocolate butter cake. SO GOOD!
We got back to HHI around 1:00, so we decided to head to the beach. There were a lot of these sand dollars in the ocean, so John T. helped himself to a few. :o)
Wednesday night, we decided to have a casual supper, so we headed to Fudrucker's.
YUMMO!
We had a fabulous Wednesday!

Vacation-Day 2

This was our view for a few hours on Tuesday morning...amazing!
We hung out by the pool for a few hours & laid at the beach for a few, and then we came in and got ready to go to Harbour Town.
Harbour Town, while on one end of the island is kind of the "center" of everything. It is located in an area of the island called Sea Pines. There are lots of little shops & the main symbol of the island is there: the lighthouse. You could go to the top of the lighthouse and look over everything, but it was H-O-T, and I decided to wear capris that day, so we just admired the lighthouse from below. :o)
There was also a very pretty waterfront there that surrounded the Harbour Town Golf Links course.
Also in Sea Pines, is The Salty Dog Cafe, located at South Beach Marina. This was top on our list to eat at, so after leaving Harbour Town, we went there for lunch.
These were hush puppies, and they were different from anything I ever ate. They were very sweet...almost like a funnel cake.
John T. had the fried shrimp basket
I had the chicken stip basket
We loved this place!
After lunch, we headed to Wal-Mart to buy a few supplies, and of course, my football enthusiast husband had to buy NCAA Football 2011 because it came out on Tuesday. The Wal-Mart was litterally back in a forest, and John T. was shocked that it wasn't a Super Center!
After hitting up Wal-Mart, we were in search of the Frozen Moo, and ice cream parlor I read about online. It took us what seemed like forever to get there because they had the wrong address on their website! So, after an awkward call to 411, asking for the telephone number for the Frozen Moo in HHI, SC, we called the shop & the girl gave us directions to get there from where we were. It was located in a shopping center called Coligny Plaza, and it was packed! We had to park about 1/2 mile away! To my surprise, we found Sweet Carolina Cupcakes at the same shopping center, and of course I had to get a cupcake for later!
There were a ton of little shops there, and it was well worth the time it took to get there! We finally made it to the Frozen Moo and got some ice cream and then headed back to our resort for the night.
