Sawdust Chicken

Last week, Kelly from Kelly's Korner invited everyone to share their favorite "go to dinner recipe," and while I didn't share mine, I spent last weekend getting some new dinner ideas from everyone who did share. One that I tried is called "Sawdust Chicken." It was so simple to make. The only thing I didn't have at home for the recipe was the chicken. All you do is melt 1 stick of butter, dip the chicken in it, then dip the chicken in crushed saltine crackers, and put the chicken in a pan sprayed with cooking spray. Drizzle the remaining butter over the chicken & sprinkle with seasoning salt. Cook @ 350 degrees for 30 minutes. It turned out so good!
I know, I know...no veggies, but this is what my husband requested! :o)

Bulldogs vs. Eagles

Well, as I predicted last week, we got beat once again, by Jefferson Middle School, 60-0. The JV for both teams went in by the 2nd half, and it actually just got worse. I want them so bad to just win one game this year! Next week is the homecoming game against Rockwood. I love all things about homecoming! It was always my favorite week in middle school & high school.

Game Two for the Week

This past Thursday, the middle school team played the Norwood Jaguars. We lost 26-0, and it rained the entire game... :o( Next week, they play Jefferson @ Jefferson, and they are supposed to be really, really good. Finally, the last two games we get to play "local" teams Rockwood & my hometown team Harriman. I'm excited about those!
Rain, rain, go away!

Almost a win...

This week, there are two middle school football games. One was last night, against the Robbins Hawks. This was by far the best game the bulldogs have played, but we still ended up losing in overtime.
John T. instructing one of his players
Jayden came to this game, and she thought it was so funny that her "bubba" was coaching...she took most of these pictures...she actually a really good photographer for a 4 year old!
Final score...32-26

More football...

I know that my posts have been extremely boring lately, but all we have been doing it seems, involve work or football. We have some exciting things planned in the next few weeks, though, so I will be sure to post about that! Last Thursday, the bulldogs played the Robertsville Rams. Again, it was a loss (26-8), but the boys seem to be doing better each game.
Getting ready for kick-off
John T. & Justin look identical from behind...it's hard to tell them apart! (John T. is on the left & Justin is on the right) I still haven't captured a good picture of all the coaches without their backs turned.

Taleah is Now a Lady Buck

On August 29, we had a going away cook-out for my SIL, Taleah, who left for college at Motlow State Commnity College in Tullahoma. We had hotdogs, chili, baked beans, slaw, chips, and yummy cake, & everyone gave Taleah useful gifts to take with her to college. Her first week went great, but she was very sore from b-ball workouts. She seems to be loving it though! The Lady Bucks' first game is Nov. 2.
Taleah & me My gift to Taleah: gift cards, pencils, highlighters, post-its, index cards, & a quote book all in a collander...college survival kit! :o)
Go Lady Bucks!

Bulldogs vs. Yellow Jackets

On August 27, CMS played the Cherokee yellow jackets, and while they played so much better than they did against Sunbright, the bulldogs still lost 30-6. They were off this past week, but this week they play Robertsville, who are supposed to be really good. We'll see what happens...go Bulldogs!

Catching Up...

Whew, it seems like forever since I have posted, but with work & other exciting happenings, it's be tough to just sit down & edit pictures, etc. Speaking of picture editing, thanks to Jen Best, I found the best website to edit pictures. Have any of you tried picnik? It is amazing! My subscription expired for my picture editing software on my computer, so I needed to try something different, and the best thing about picnik is it's free! Give it a try if you need to edit any photos...I always seem to have trouble with red eye! I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. I spent Sat. & Sun. working, but I was able to enjoy a fabulous Monday with John T. We headed to Turkey Creek for some shopping & then stocked up on lots of groceries...I know it may seeem weird, but I LOVE grocery shopping with my husband. It's so fun! :o) Now, on my agenda for this week is to catch up on laundry & start decorating for fall! My aunt Sharon bought me the prettiest fall wreath & I am so excited to put it up! I <3 FALL so so much! Football, pumpkins, mums, spiced candles, drinks, etc., cool weather, caramel apples, hayrides!
