Black Friday

Since I was in middle school, I have been getting up early to shop on black Friday. I always remember my aunt Sharon taking my cousin Ashley, and I couldn't wait until she thought I was "old enough" to handle it, I guess. :o) She started taking me with them when I was in middle school, and I loved it! I didn't so much like getting up at 4:00 a.m., but I loved getting to spend the day with them. As I got older, we began to start out later & later, and a couple of years ago, we actually went shopping around 6:00 p.m. on BF, and it was so nice! Since I have been married, I still got up early and ventured out for deals I just had to have! Last year, John T. went with me for the first time, and he was just shocked by everything & everyone, I think. We had a great time though, but to be honest, most of the deals we got last year, we don't even use now, i.e. a second PS3 controller, Call of Duty or whatever that game is called (JT only plays NCAA football, and from what I have heard from other wives, I should be thankful for this! lol).

Anyways, this year, I decided that after looking at all of the sale papers, there just wasn't one thing that I had to have at 4:00 a.m. So...I decided to head out a little later and shop with my mom & our friend Teresa. We started out at my favorite place for breakfast, Mimi's Cafe, and took our time from there. We hit up Wal-Mart, Target, Belk, & the usuals, and I actually ended up buying everything that I had picked out in the sale papers at 10 or 11 a.m. instead of 4 a.m., & it felt really good. Mind you, I got the last item of what I wanted at each store, but I did get it! ha! One thing I really wanted was a new area rug that Target had & another was a bathroom organizer from KMart. I LOVE both! We had a really great day, and we all got a great start on our Christmas shopping!

Football Friday

The VOLS beat Vanderbilt last week 24-10! That means we only need to beat Kentucky (our last game of the season) to be bowl elgible!

Go VOLS, beat the Wildcats!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving 2010

This year, for Thanksgiving, we celebrated at my aunt Sharon's house. We usually try to visit both mine & John T.'s families, but with John T. working mid-nights on Thanksgiving, we had to choose one place to go. (Both families also schedule their Thanksgiving lunch at the same time :o( ) Next year, he will be on the same shift, so we will go to his mamaw's, just to make life fair for everyone. The holidays can be so stressful, and I don't really like it, but it is what it is, and I know when we have kids, it is going to be even harder! whew...

We had a great lunch with all the usuals: turkey, ham, dressing, corn, cheesy bacon potatoes, rolls, salad & all sorts of yummy desserts! I did a horrible job of getting pictures, but I just wanted to relax, watch football & eat, so I just had my mom snap a few shots. My uncle Daryl took lots more of each family there, but he hasn't sent them to me yet.

My aunt & uncle have a beautiful view. I <3 their house!
Cute, but John T. closed his eyes. :o)
I hope everyone had a very happy ThAnKsGiViNg!

We won again last week against Ole Miss 52-14! It was such a great game!

This Saturday, the Vols travel to Nashville to play the Vanderbilt Commodores. We are going to watch the game at my mom & dad's house & have steaks, all the fixin's, & coconut cake! I am very excited!

Brittany's Baby Shower

This weekend flew by so fast! On Saturday, I hosted a baby shower for my best friend, Brittany, who is having a baby boy, Easton Lynn, in January.

The theme of the shower was "everything orange & white." I thought everything turned out so cute, from the invitations (by Giraffic Arts) to the cupcake toppers (by Carly's Cakes)!

I made the cupcakes from my favorite chocolate cupcake recipe (thank you, Giada!) & I ordered the toppers from Carly's Cakes. She did a fabulous job! They said "Lil Vol", "Easton," & one had a football with an "E" in the middle with his name below it.
 Oranges and fruit dip
Cute polka dot plates from Spoiled Rotten in Karns
 Carrots & dip
 The whole spread
 Lorrie, Taleah & Jayden arriving

We love Britt's belly! :o)

Football Friday

Ugh, the month of October did not turn out good at all for the Vols. After a 38-24 loss against South Carolina last week, they travel west across the state to Memphis to take on the Tigers. Ok, Vols, we have to win this one...have to!

Good Ole Rocky Top!!!

GO VOLS!!
