I Heart Fall

I know I have mentioned this so many times, that y'all are tired of hearing it, but I LOVE fall!

I worked Monday & Tuesday this week and was off with John T. on Wednesday & today, and we have just had the best time. The fall weather is so beautiful, & it just feels so good outside. We sat on the porch this afternoon & just enjoyed everything that God has blessed us with. I thank Him everyday for the life He has chosen for me. Sometimes, I may not understand everything that He has planned for me, but I know at the end of the day, He has a purpose, and it is great, so I give Him glory for that.

I decided that today was the day to get pumpkins & mums. I couldn't wait any longer! I have seen so many blogs & magazines that have mentioned painting pumpkins, and I just had to give it a try. Oh my goodness, I am now hooked! If John T. wouldn't kill me, I would buy 100 pumpkins and paint them! :o) I just did this little one below tonight, and I love how it turned out! I bought the acrylic paint at Wal-Mart (black, white, & gold) & I also got some little circle sponges to paint with. It was so easy & pretty fun, too!

The first year we were married, we got white mums, last year we had white & yellow, and this year I was really wanting some orange ones (and I also wanted to try white pumpkins because I loved them at our wedding).

I think everything turned out pretty cute.

Love the T flag flying, too! :o)

Tomorrow's Friday, back to work, one more day this week for me! Yay for UT scrubs! I hope everyone has a great Friday & a fabulous weekend.

Saturday

Yesterday afternoon, I drove to Nashville for my bride-to-be best friend's bachelorette party.

We started by having manicures & pedicures at Hillwood Suites by Hilton downtown.
Jessica's mom & sisters did a great job with everything! It was all planned so well.
Yummy cupcakes!

We also had a lingerie shower for her, and while I didn't want to post all of the goodies, I did want
to post this cute little *BrIdE* jacket she got!
Cute little luggage tag
All the girls - Jess's sister Hayleigh
We ate in the Gulch in Nashville. This was the best Mexican food I have ever had! We also had some excitement when Jessica, her sister Skylar, & I saw Dave Haywood from Lady Antebellum picking up a to-go order! We screamed like 2 year olds!! :o)
Ashley (another bridesmaid) Jessica & I

We had the best night! The wedding is only two weeks away!! :o)

I would also like to say GO VOLS! We beat UAB 32-29 yesterday! I listened to the game on the way to Nashville, and it made the drive go by so much faster!

Football Friday

Well, last week was yet again a not so fabulous week for the VOLS. We lost to Florida 31-17. :o(

Tomorrow, we play the UAB Blazers at home in Knoxville. We HAVE to win this game...it will be so sad if we don't!

ALSO, I am a huge supporter of all things SEC, since the VOLS are in the conference (& because I think it's the BEST conference).

So...I am pulling for the Arkansas Razorbacks to BEAT the Alabama Crimson Tide!!! WOO PIG SOOIE!!

I am heading to Nashville on Saturday afternoon for my friend Jessica's bachelorette party, so I will miss part of the VOLS game, but I will definitely be listening as I drive down I-40!

GO VOLS!!

Show us your life-Master Bedrooms

Today Kelly's Korner is hosting Show Us Your Life-Master Bedrooms.

When we moved in, the master bedroom was painted a sky blue, and as you can see, we painted over it with a darker brown (Ottertail, I believe).

Our bedding is from Bed, Bath & Beyond, and our bed & other furniture was brought from my bedroom at my mom & dad's. I want to get another nightstand for my side of the bed in the future, and I am in the market for a flower arrangement or something else for the night stand we have now because I have always thought it was too plain.

My favorite thing about our room is the sign above our bed. It is a ceiling tile, painted by Carrie at ella minnow pea. I LOVE it so much that I got another one for our guest bedroom. It has an "A" on it with colors that match the bedding in that room.

Off to the side is the master bathroom

I can't wait to see everyone else's master bedrooms!

Fall

I am so excited that today marks the first day of Fall! This is definitely my favorite season...I love everything about fall: football, candles, orange, pumpkins, leaves, mums!

I ordered this cute little sign from Lesley at You're That Girl Designs (via etsy.com). She does great work & was super fast with delivery!

We ordered this little side table/book case a few weeks ago, and I LOVE it! I didn't really want a traditional bookcase, and I just thought these baskets helped "hide" everything and made the books look neater. I love my little glitter pumpkin! I got it at Hobby Lobby while I was in college to decorate my first apartment. My mom got me this cute platter at Cracker Barrel back in August, and I just LOVE it, too!
This last picture has nothing to do with fall, but I recently ordered this bag from my friend Ashley's 31 party, and I received it today. I am so excited about it. It turned out so cute! :o)
HaPpY fAlL, everyone! Have a great Wednesday!

Our Weekend in Indianapolis

Oh y'all! This past weekend was absolutely fabulous! This was our second trip to Indianapolis for a Colts game. You can read about last year's trip here.

We left Tennessee on Friday morning and made it to Indianapolis around 2:30. The drive was amazing. It was so pretty, with lots of corn fields along the way!

 Driving through Louisville, KY
  Crossing the KY/IN line.
  Lots of corn!
Our hotel room: it was glorious! We stayed at the Hilton, downtown. When we arrived, we headed down the street to Circle Centre Mall to do a little shopping & then had supper at PF Changs. This was our first time eating here, crazy, I know! They gave us free lettuce wraps, and they were SO good!

On Saturday, heading out to the mall & Buffalo Wild Wings. GO VOLS!
We stayed across the street/roundabout from Monument Circle
  Eating lunch at BWW!

After lunch, we spent the afternoon watching UT vs. UF. It was pretty awful, but I am really hoping we will start to do better in the next few weeks! After the game, we went back to the mall for one last trip (their mall is 3 floors of greatness!) & ordered a pizza for supper.

Sunday was game day! We started out by eating breakfast at Panera Bread & ended up going back for lunch! ha! The Colts/Giants game wasn't until 8:20 that evening, so we literally spent the majority of our day watching, you guessed it, football! We watched the Titans/Steelers game, and a little later, we went to a huge TJ Maxx that was right beside our hotel. I LOVE that place! Not so much for the clothes, but mostly for their home decor & kitchen stuff! I ended up getting a pair of tongs, sifter, tray & a really cute animal print bath towel by Ralph Lauren for our guest bathroom that I was pretty excited about! I think I spent ~$18 for everything!

I had not planned to buy another jersey this year, but I could not pass up the polka dots! We are getting ready to leave the hotel & walk to to Lucas Oil!

 I <3 this picture!

The captains meeting before the coin toss. Peyton vs. Eli!

 This was so cool!
                                                               Getting ready to kick-off!

I snapped this picture after the game, as we were walking back to our hotel. I thought it was so pretty!

Indianapolis is such a fabulous city! I hope we are able to go back, year after year to watch the Colts play!

The Colts ended up beating the Giants, 38-14!

 GO COLTS!

Football Friday

Eww...last week was a very, very sad game for the VOLS. We lost to Oregon 48-13. They played great during the first half, but in the second half, it was like they just gave up!

Tomorrow, we play our first (& most hated), SEC opponent, the Florida Gators. This game is always hard for us, it reminds me of the Harriman/Kingston rivalry each year in high school! We SO need a win on Saturday!

John T. & I will be in Indianapolis this weekend for the Colts/Giants game on Sunday, so we will be watching from our hotel room. Yes, we have already made sure the game will be on CBS in Indy! :o)

GO BIG ORANGE!

Luke Bryan

Tonight, we headed to the Tennessee Valley Fair in Knoxville to see Luke Bryan in concert. This was the first time either of us had seen him in concert, and we thought he put on a great show! I love every single song on his CD, and he seems like such a funny & nice guy in person. We had a blast!

Jack Ryan from WIVK, two Fairest of the Fair winners & WIVK the frog opened the show by throwing t-shirts to the crowd! We had great seats near the front, but no shirts for us!
