Snow & Surgery

One thing I looked forward to about living where I do is getting more snow than the county right beside us. Well, last winter, I was disappointed because we never really got what one would call a "good snow." This winter, however, has been a completely different story! At the end of January, we got 4 inches of snow & ice that kept me in for the whole weekend. This week, on Monday morning, we woke up to 3.5 inches, and I had to troop through it all and make it to work. I have never driven on roads so bad in my life, but I made it, and I was so proud of myself! LoL Finally, by that afternoon the roads were clear, but we still have a ton of snow on the ground right now. Hopefully, it will warm up this weekend and melt everything away. There are only so many times a girl can mop her floors!

On Tuesday, we woke up early and I took John T. to have his septoplasty surgery. It had snowed Monday night and was coninuing to snow Tuesday morning. We couldn't believe it! My mom met us at the surgery center and after many magazines and 3 hours later, he was ready to come home. He actually did a lot better that I thought (and a lot better than I would!). He is really stopped up due to lots of packing the dr. had to put in his nose, but he goes back Monday to have everything taken out, and hopefully he will be able to breathe normally for once in his life! I took off work for the past three days to take care of him, but I go back tomorrow and work the weekend. Please keep him in your prayers that he would start to have some comfort to breathe normally! :o)

Also, my friend Chasity lost her mom on Monday morning, and her family could use lots of prayers right now. I am still shocked that Nancy is no longer here, but I know that she is not sick anymore, and she is with Jesus, which is such a comforting feeling. "For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ." Colossians 2:15

Valentine's Day

This year for Valentine's Day, we went out on Saturday afternoon to see Dear John and ate supper at Wishbones. It was definitely low key, but I loved it! We exchanged our gifts from each other Sunday morning: John T. got me a super cute camera bag & a box of chocolates, and I got him a subscription to the Knoxville News Sentinel, a Vols hat, and Reese's Peanut Butter Hearts, his favorite. We went to church and then had lunch at my favorite place, Cracker Barrel. That night, I had my Esther Bible study at church, which I am loving by the way, and when I got home, I made chocolate covered strawberries. We had a great lovey weekend!

Super Bowl

Even though the Colts ended up losing the Super Bowl, we still had a great time at our friend's Tim & Amber's house. I ate enough for the rest of my life I think! We had chicken wings, pizza rolls, potato skins, and Amber made a delicious bean dip. We also had our yummy cookie cake for dessert! It was so nice to get together with our friends and watch the game!

GO COLTS!

Super Bowl Sunday! Anyone that knows me and John T., knows we love our Colts! I am so excited for tonight's game, I can barely stand it. We are getting ready to put our jerseys on and head to our friend's Tim & Amber Bolden's house to watch the game. I'm really looking forward to having an excuse to eat chicken wings & cookie cake!! :o) In celebration of the Colts going to the Super Bowl, I wanted to share some pictures of our trip this past October to Indianapolis. I told John T. that we must be their "good luck charm" because we have only been to two games before: one in 2006 in Nashville when they played the Titans and this past fall, and both seasons, they went to the Super Bowl! Hopefully, this game will turn out as great as the 2007 Super Bowl did. :o)

Happy 9th Birthday, Clay!

Happy Birthday to my best buddy, Clay! I hope you have a great day! I love you, and I'm excited about your party next Saturday.
This was us on Halloween 2009. He LOVES to make silly faces. :o)
